A Dinosaur Fact:
The meat-eating dinosaur Baryonyx had a huge claw on each of its
from feet--12 inches long! It may have used that claw to go
fishing. Scientists found a skeleton of Baryonyx with fish
scales in its stomach.
Microraptor may be the smallest dinosaur of all. This small
meat-eating dinosaur could have sat in your hand. Its body was
not quite six inches long. It did, however, have a long tail -
nine and a half inches.
Scientists have found a skeleton of Giganotosaurus, a huge
meat-eating dinosaur, that is six feet larger than any known
skeleton of T. rex; however, the brain of Giganotosaurus was
smaller than the brain of T. rex.
Megaraptor was a large, lightly-built meat-eating dinosaur. It
had two fourteen-inch sickle-like hand claws.
Suchomimus could use its huge, foot-long thumb claws to catch
fish.
Fossils of Cryolophosaurus were found in the Antarctic.
Fossils of Allosaurus have been found in North America, Europe,
Africa, and Australia.
Astronaut Loren Acton took a Maiasaura bone fragment and a piece
of eggshell into outer space (Spacelab 2) in 1985.
Paleontologists have found hundreds of fossils of the small
meat-eating dinosaur Coelophysis at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico.
Scientists think this means Coelophysis hunted in packs.
Troödon may have been the smartest dinosaur. It had the largest
brain in proportion to its body weight of any dinosaur which has
been found so far. This would have made it about as smart as a
modern bird.
Seismosaurus may have used its long neck to weave its head
between tree trunks to get to leaves it couldn't reach otherwise
because it couldn't fit its body between the trees.
